In a bit of impressive insanity, I bought 8 12x2 FPS transducers. They've been in a few prototype speakers, and are supposed to be pretty good - and at $80 for the lot, they were'nt cheap, but did not break the bank, either.

What I was wondering is how well these would work in combination with a horn-loaded old-school woofer - specifically, the Bigger is Better, or BiB.

While the treble generally goes a bit spazzy with horn loaded designs, especially when not in corners, I figure that replacing the fullrange driver traditionally used with a traditional woofer (Silver Flute 8" driver, perhaps?) and modifying the horn loading to make bass response even flatter up to the point where the FPS panels kick in. (Yes, I'm going to use an active crossover, and bi-amp - probbably a 41hz Amp9 4-channel amp kit.)
I was thinking about making a sort of mini line-array of 4 panels, with the woofer in the middle. How would you reccomend I mount the panels on the front of the BiB?
This is intended to be a home-theater speaker; hence, the emphasis on bass, bass, and, dare I say it, more bass. I might also add a homemade omnidirectional tweeter to the top, which would be crossed in with a capacitor at about 16khz.
Good idea or bad?
