First off, Hi to the board.
This is for stage amplification and recording use.
Basicly what i am after is info on the design parameters of the ggm series bass bins produced by community light and sound. Not sure of the dates on these things but they were fairly distinctive. 2X15 in a side by side setup , fiberglass construction and an oval port.
The cab had the look of a Face, sounds wierd, but it is accurate.
A Keyboard player in a band i was in several years ago had a pair and they were absolutely serious.
Any points in the right direction would be a god send

Thanx ya'll
:D

Have you asked Community? Their datasheets are usually quite comprehensive, but you might also need the one for the specific driver used to get all the T/S parameters as well.

If you're looking to clone them, then I'd suggest buying a good used pair would be a better investmant as they'd still have resale value. There are plenty of pro-audio resellers in the US so you shouldn't have trouble finding some.

good idea...
But i am also intrested in the math behind them......
I have contacted community about them and have not recieved a reply back as of yet....the website did'nt have the model listed and i assume they were of an older discontinued series

i do look around for them occaisionally, when i have the spare funds to make a purchase...if anyone sees anything on 'em out there, nGive me a holler!!!

ok
got a word back from community. no Joy.
If anyone has any type of info on these monsters please give me a holler

below is the email i recieved:
Ted,
We last made the GGM cabinets ( Great Googamooga ) back in the 70's. I don't have any information on them and have not seen any of them in years. Good luck.

Glad to help.

A tip for posting on Prosound web; don't sound like an audiophile and don't mention you want to use them at home (I assume that's what you want to do). Just say something like you like the sound they make and want to use some in a club rig or something. Generally there is a low tolerance sneery derision of 'philes there, but a huge knowledge base.

Well, i will use them all over the place! if i can get my hands on a pair or at least some specs.....heh,hheh......
thanx for the warning....
I've done my fair share of live sound over the years and have a good coat of teflon in regards to snobbery...:superman:
And there seems to be a little of the same here, but overall the board here is benevolent
Although i don't understand why some must deride and critisize , i have come to the realization that they just do......
c'est la vie.
i'm too old to worry about what people think about what i'm doing.
Thanx again for the pointer
