Crossover Modification

I've got a crossover designed for a very expensive 8 ohm nominal tweeter. While I'm saving up for the tweeters, I'd like to use my current tweeters with my new crossover. My current tweeters are 6 ohm nominal. Can I just put a 2 ohm power resistor in series with my current tweeter and maintain the cutoff frequency of the crossover?

Hi Jim,

In theory yes, but the 8 ohm nominal is just that. You really need to know the exact impedance at the crossover point of the two tweeters and add the difference in resistance.
