Can anyone please suggest how to repair "mushed-in" cabinet corners? UPS dropped the box and damage the corners. Bracing seems fine...just cosmetics. It is piano black lacquer, 1.5" MDF with woodgrain veneer.

Also, how to hide dings and scratches.

Thanks.

techno,
There's not going to be a good way to get a 'mushed-in' cabinet corner to pop back out--there are things you can do with solid wood, but they won't work with MDF. Did you not file a claim with UPS for the damage?
Dings won't repair either.
Scratches will boil down to a question of trying to match the existing finish. Spray lacquers are available from a variety of sources. Black should not be hard to find. The trick is to get the same gloss and depth of finish. Tricky, but it can be done.

UPS claim

Grey,

Thanks for replying.

Yes, UPS is paying out the insurance (long frustrating battle)....just for one unit. Speakers were shipped in different boxes. Oh well.

Mushed corners - well, I guess best I will do is patch it with cellulose wooden fibre then get some brass or wooden corners to tack on.

Dings and scratches - will best fit with lacquer spray.
