Class A speakers, as in BIAS

.. not Stereophile ranking or something.

A driver with dual windings, dc bias on both, let´s say 1A. The driver will still be in rest position and dissipate 12W for a 2x6ohm VC.

We will more or less sidestep thermal compression but the cool thing is the VC´s could serve as load to a single class A device.

Please, someone try this :)

You might avoid additional thermal compression, but depending on the power spec. of the coils, you may have given yourself some right off the bat, giving the firstwatt the same compression as the twelfthwatt.

With a 1000W driver, the effect would be nil, but so I think would be the benefit.

Not worth the effort IMO.

The resistance will of course be higher than room temp but it will be constant so no thermal compression will occur as long as both devices conduct.

Thermal issues are only part of the idea, the fact that you can make a balanced Zen amp with coils as loads for the most simplistic amp/driver combo in history is cool IMO.
