Has anyone (in Australia or New Zealand) had any experience with, or can comment on, the Dick Smith active crossover kit K5404?

Here is the only info about it on the website:

>Allows you to integrate a subwoofer with an existing speaker system. Offers both low-pass and high-pass outputs which have matching roll-off and phase characteristics. Input and output impedances: 47k and 100 ohms respectively.<

To be honest, as a neophyte I don't fully understand the relevance of the input/output details. But the kit is CHEAP (NZ$16 at present). They are clearing them out and will not be restocking.

Worth buying, you think?

I built one years ago for a friend. Worked well for his home setup but it's just a simple op-amp based circuit. Don't expect 'audiophile' quality, but for home theatre / casual listening it does the job.

Don't forget you have to build a power supply, and buy a case and RCA connections as well.
