This looks impressive though.

In the past we have seen how Erich from diysoundgroup put together a driver with parts from different suppliers (Denovo DNA-360) that is equal or better than a comparable A-brand driver (B&C DE250).

Better than the old or the new DE250 ????

Concistency by choice or by sourcing/purchasing effect, can be a problem too, especially when one,is talking about precision like in Audio ! The Denovo could be better than the new B&C, but at the end it has a name: Cunterfeit - even if it asks some talent to do so, somewhere-

Sure, but what I had in mind was to make an additional waveguide which extends from the woofer cone to the rounded edge of the front baffle. The edge of the coax cone protrudes a bit from the surround so there is enough space for a 3D printed structure. The attached picture shows the coax cone in red and the waveguide/baffle in green.

Rough idea would be to combine the coaxial driver with a woofer like wo24p as a standmount monitor and cross them at around 300Hz or so. The goal would be to control directity and minimize diffraction (and get more experience in CAD, CNC, and 3D printing).

That's what I figured as well, but I have a lot of gaps in my knowledge of acoustic waveguide geometries. Perhaps by the time I have filled the biggest holes, someone with more experience with coaxials shares their experience with this particular driver.

Any thoughts on the Wom120 vs. the Mid120 for the range of 400 to 3k (or so)? This would be for a 3 way with the Purifi 6.5 and the Bliesma T25B. I can wait for the Mid120, if it's a better mid, but I'm not seeing that on paper. I'm also waiting to see what Purifi might come out with in a small dedicated mid.

Apparently pahoffma is testing something similar based on what they wrote in the Cox165_vPA thread.

As for the smaller Cox120, what kind of performance should one expect from a ring dome tweeter that is placed in the middle of the mid cone? I have not seen them being used in coaxial drivers.

Or is the tweeter nested in the Cox120 actually a regular dome and I was just fooled by the larger proportions of the suspensions surrounding a small (1/2") dome?

Me too; only serious competitor in the same ballpark is Scan Speak Illuminator 12MU/4731T00, which is around 300.- € where i live.
Hoping/Expecting that Mid120_vHE is <200.-€.
<150.-€ would be a dream...

We are currently producing 6 references from _vHE range, including Mid120_vHE. Most of them will be available by the end of February or March 15th max. We are updating all the _vHE range to make it as good as we can. The data sheet will be updated accordingly soon. We hope you will enjoy
