I went looking and found this forum today, because I will soon be receiving their big brother the 707's it should be a fun project, memory is faded a little but even though they have a film cap in there he upgraded across the board all the caps and the resistors, one of the resistors was way out of spec, if you had not found the driver issue i might have suggested you check them
