I can confirm the HF108R paired with the XT1086 horn is a good sounding combo. Nice 'softer' and refined sound. Good for home speaker application. The HF107 which I also have is slightly bit harder sounding. But still easier on the ears over some of the metal diaphragm drivers I've tried. I did recently pick up a pair of Dukane 5a540 16ohm 1" drivers which are apparently similar to Coral M100 which I read has a very natural sound. Have not compared yet to the Faitals though.

Recently, I was tempted to buy some NSD1480Ns - the bigger brother of the NSD1095 - but cancelled the deal, because of comments about harshness.
It seems the much cheaper ND1460N offers the most value of ND14.. range, including the A(luminum) variant. Confirmatory measurements are available.
I attribute the harshness partly to the lack of a soft suspension around the diaphragms, a feature that's incorporated in 18Sound's latest diaphragms.
@tuyen: what's your XO freq. of the HF108R + XT1086 combo?
Considering its low resonance freq. the driver should take 800-900Hz, crossed steeply and behind a horn that's big enough.

It's what's inside that counts, or better: contributes to the perceived sound quality.
Measurements are important, but often don't provide enough clues to make a judgement of what I'd like to refer to as 'sound signature'.
As far as compression drivers are concerned, diaphragm materials, including the suspension, are the main contributors to the perceived 'signature'.
2 comparable, but structurally distinctive drivers may show similar frequency responses and distortion characteristics, though may not sound quite the same.
