Alright. I'm going to proceed with the purchase of the crossover components as the sim suggests.

Fingers and toes crossed.

All credit to the author of the book and artist who designed the book cover. it's apropos at this point.

Wish me luck!

Should be good enough. Been using them for bass on/off for 12 years. Nice drivers.

Ernie thanks for your reply. Do you mean you have been using them for electric bass or have you used them in a two or three way speaker?

leadbelly, thanks for your reply.

I made several cabs of varying sizes and varying tuning for the 3015's, before settling on the sweet spot of about 3 cubic feet and 47/48 Hz for a single driver.

A bigger box seems to make the bass sound thin, and tuning above 50 makes a box this size a one note wonder.

The 215 is, however, 5.46 cubic feet, and tuned to 47 hz. Real good bass.

I've used them for both. I settled for the same box size and tuning as you did.

My first go around with the 3015 was with a passive 3-way crossover that I had no clue what I was doing. Used the LA6-cbmr for mids and the APT80 for thighs. With the right eq it still worked better overall than a traditional bass cab. Also used them in an active 3-way stereo with great results.

I would also consider adding a tweeter high passed at 6khz with a switch. No need to low pass the mid. Adds a bit more dimension to the sound for my taste. I understand many are fine without one though.

OK great. Yeah that's the sweet spot for size and tuning.

I was looking at the Eminence APT 80, with the eminence 5k high pass and have the real estate on the cab if I feel it's needed.

But I've got the cab built and ready to go. I just need the parts and I'm ordering them today.
