Can some one tell me about its model or where i can find its data sheet for cabinet construction.

Trademark octaganol basket. Probably a high Q, full range driver with whizzer cone which is suitable for open baffle mounting.

Please confirm the diameter. Can you post a front view?

Philips made so many models of speaker similar to this and I have been unable to identify your version.

I think it would do well in a 1 cubic foot (30 L) enclosure fitted with a Variovent (or a less expensive homemade copy of one).

It may help us if you can reveal more about the speaker - e.g. how did you acquire it, was it salvaged from a particular piece of equipment, was it found in a cabinet etc.?

Certain octagonal Philips 7" full range drivers were specified for a 7 litre sealed enclosure (e.g. AD 7062/M) while others were specified for a 25 litre sealed enclosure (e.g. AD 7063/M).

this is likely OEM product for another manufacturer, most Phillips components that where sold to the general public had an AD designation.

what should i look for

All you can look for are clues, which is what I did.

According to the data sheets, two versions of the 7" full range drivers were made.

One version had the parameters to suit a 7 litre sealed cabinet while the other version suited a 25 litre sealed cabinet.

You can do an experimental comparison simply by using cardboard boxes.

Such a temporary lash-up should be sufficient to reveal which volume of sealed cabinet is optimum for your driver - be it 7L, 25L or whatever!

why not just measure T/S parameters....a (single) driver this old might not even matched published spec's or work in an old cabinet design....does it work...at all?

Maybe not identical, but certainly similar!

Looking again at the data sheets, the 7 litre version had a rubber surround so we can count that version out.

The 25 litre version had a fabric surround so has the closest similarity to your corrugated paper surround speaker.

That's as much as I can help - experiment with a 25 litre cardboard box and see how it goes.

what this driver out of ?



even looking for 2415 264 48001 like a Philips catalogue number doesn't yield an identity which makes me think that's it OEM for a different brand, possibly an organ or perhaps commercial paging product.
