Do Bypass caps really work in crossovers?

A little off topic.

High end phono preamp manufacturers never parallel two capacitors. From memory, it does something to the sinusoidal waveform. When they tried to measure the effect, nothing appeared. However, upon listening, a single cap sounded better than paralleled caps.

A few year ago I upgraded the low voltage storage supply electrolytic's in my amps. I went from two pole to four pole. The amps sounded better with no bypass caps.

I have no idea if it makes a difference in speaker crossovers, but I try to work with available single values.
