Default SilverFlute SB29RDAC Rolls X21

Pulled this box out of storage after realizing a 24 db crossover works nicely with mtm's. At first was seeing some crazy bad results, but a buddy said move to a bigger room and fabricate a taller stand.
Good advice and back on track!

The new test setup: using DAC-Rolls-Adcom 7300 amp. The amp is not for every situation, but it does kick! Working well here.

The speakers are SF 6.5 8ohm, paralleled to 4ohm, which is very close to the 93db of the tweeter output.

The red line in first graph is tweeter+ woofer+. Not using any caps, filters. etc and found tweeter reverse is a much better response.

Maybe a 10uf cap in series would flip this and add tweeter protection at the same time...idk.

*have extra minidsp 2x4; maybe someday when I have more time to go down that road again,,,

Default Midrange Needed

Jon,
SB Acoustics larger chamber SB29DAC.

So honestly the 2,000/2,500 crossover isn't cutting it. Although the SF's sound very impressive below 1,000hz, so thinking about a 3way.
With a new double woofer box, the layout on the baffle may be tight.
A pair of SB29DCN's on the shelf (which are smaller).

Maybe someone could suggest a smallish midrange that may work.

Any thoughts on locating the mid/tweeter between the woofers?

Will be using a miniDSP crossover.

Well better results with an extended range 6" KEVLAR midrange.
The SF 6.5s have plenty of umph if they are crossed over low.
These results were with a midrange box about the same size as the cardboard box it was shipped in. [Simply sitting on top]

Wiring is ++ as shown.

One issue with the test gear is that there's not much shown as far as bass, tends to be a flat line, no matter what,,,,

Well anyway the test setup was an eye opener and the SF's have potential if crossed-over low enough. I.e. soothing low end chug all around the house with the speaker still on the stand in the middle of the room.
The 6" mid driver ($30) was on the shelf so may use this combination for a backyard projector/movie party we're having soon.
This 6" 91db midrange is not bad and the PE reviews are accurate, that said could order/use something else; 4" to 5" midrange that might work a bit better.
