Assembling...

8 x 18W/4831G00
8 x NeoCD2.0

I needed some alone time to get this done...

Finished and in place.

DCX2496 to add and dedicated amps.

The old speakers are SS Revelator tweeters, B&W 6.5" mids sitting on top of servo controlled aluminum 10's.

MiniDSP and 4 x UcD180's.

New will start with DCX2496 and a pair of stereo amps but I am debating the miniDSP icepower plate amps... P_20190617_131952.jpg P_20190617_131927.jpg

Thanks all, they're not tiny little b0$e.... And hopefully they don't sound anything like them either.

Wife is ok with them. I give her a sewing room, she gives me the tv area..

Now to make interconnects to "sew" it all up. Yeah, the wife doesn't get my humor either... :)

Very nice carpentry!

Too bad you don't have quite enough drivers to do the job properly. ;)

Those line arrays should be twice as tall, you just need to cut holes in your ceiling and roof to fit them. And there should be at least four line arrays on each side of the fireplace, not just one. And you don't need a fireplace, it should be turned into a subwoofer, with at least four 18" drivers, and the chimney extended and tuned to act as a transmission line.

:D

They should be longer, yes, ideally from floor to ceiling. In praxis it's often okay if they are 20cm shorter. They are much shorter though.

Also, you should try if they sound better with the tweeters to the middle instead to the outside (swap left and right).

And I was soo sure designing speakers wasn't rocket science..
No rockets necessary - you just climb up the towers as you build them. It's like Arthur C. Clarke's space elevator.

(Or maybe it's more like Jack's magic beanstalk.)

I'm deeply saddened that nobody else liked my idea of the fire-place subwoofer with the chimney as a tuned transmission line.

Finished my car to rca cables..

The DCX2496 automagically adjust from balanced to single ended outputs.

Now to finish the initial amp( code for cheap starter amp while I save for 6 channels of ncore500's)...

EDIT: The goal is to have 3 channel amps beside the cabinets and short speaker leads.

Replaced all the 3/4" screws with 1" waxed course thread screws and lock washers on the woofers only. See lower woofer in the picture.

This is the progress for my 4 channel test amp. Eventually it will be replaced with mono enclosures each containing 3 channels of amplification and the servo circuit for the woofers(not the Scan Speaks in the line arrays)...
