Celestion CDX1-1730 (CDX1-1731 for screw fitting).
People at Diy Sound Group & Hificircuit forums regard this high.

Beyma CP380 has to worth consideration. I went to mine from scanspeak revelator domes and wasn't disappointed.

COST NO OBJECT: I would use the $200 BMS 4552nd CD. Smooth with great detailed sound. If you get a LARGE horn, you can use this CD down to 1kHz.
BEST VALUE: I would use the $63 Peerless DFM-2544R00-08 CD. Plastic-coated Ti-diaphragm. Proven simple passive crossovers available.
I OWN: Faital HF108 and BMS 4552nd...both purchased used$
=======
It would be SWELL if a modest cost ABS construction version of the SEOS-18 and SEOS-24 waveguides were available.
========
The ABS construction SEOS-15 waveguide which diysoundgroup sells for $38 would be my first choice for a 1200-1300Hz crossover to a 10" or 12" midbass.
===
I own: The $13 PartsExpress B-52 PHRN-1014 1" Horn is 10" x 14" waveguide with 5" depth which can support a 1.2kHz crossover between the midrange and tweeter horn. Several curvelinear cone 12" midwoofers will polar match 90-degrees @1.2kHz. The $130 Eminence DeltaPro 12A is a low cost high quality choice, with a 6.22" total depth which puts the voice coil near the 5.2" horn depth. Alternate Midrange: $188 the Eminence KappaLite 3012HO has natural sound; I own: $230 Faital 12PR300 has a ~5.0-5.2" voice coil depth.

Mayhem,

That horn seems nice and rounded off at the horn mouth.

70 degree dispersion seems tight, but looks fairly conical otherwise.

It should sound good, maybe 2khz crossover point to me but i estimate, not measure.

Linesource and other who have Faital or 18Sound 1" compressiondrivers, I would like to know. Are they meassuring like there datasheets som of them like Faital HF108 does not have (much) impedance peak like most 1 " compressiondrivers between 1-2KHz? and is this influenced a lot by the used horn? (normally there is two impedance peaks, but the secound one seems to be suppressed on some drivers)
