swap out 6 ohm woofer with 8 ohm??

I picked up a pair of these teac ls-h130 to mess around with.

I swapped out the stock 6 ohm driver with an aura NS3-193-8A.

What happened to my crossover points?

What you will probably end up with is something with a notch in the frequency around 2000-3000 Hz. Crossovers are designed for a specific set if drivers, and changing the drivers means you really ought to fully redesign the crossover if you want the new drivers to perform optimally. Also, since drivers do not actually have constant impedance, even describing them as 6 or 8 ohm is more just a broad generalization, and to properly design a crossover for them, you would need to measure their impedance in their cabinet across the audible frequency range.

Sorry it's not a simple answer! In my opinion, the complexity presents opportunities to have fun with the design process though :)
 
I would be more interested in what happened to the sound of the speaker! :)

P.S. Without details of the crossover network it is impossible to answer your question.

For all we know, the woofer is being driven 'full range', without so much as a series inductor.

well the sound improved DRASTICLY for voice. Buy I lost some sound of guitar strings being plucked. They are overall a great improvement though. Very happy with the small investment they were.

I have gone through quite a few speakers in the last couple months, these are my favorite.....and strangely have the smallest drivers.

Do 3'' driver 2 way systems typically sound much better vocally?

I'm wondering if a coax, or 3 way system will give me the sound I desire...
