thanks again galu, i may well need more info on the caps change.
thanks for your input dave and yes i imagine without the fron picture it was a bit confusing even more so, but at least i have the info need now off you two top guys, thankyou.
just need to get the rogers sorted out now so will get it setup and take a few pics and open a new post.

well thankyou lads for all the responses..it appears the surround rubber is fine and still quite supple, so i think i got lucky..
regarding the wadding i think a little extra wont go amiss to be honest,i have messed around building my own speaker enclosures since i was a teen, god knows how long ago that was.lol
as for the cadet, i am not an electronics engineer by any means, but pretty used to very high voltages having done 25 years as a sparky down t pit lol, so know about the its bites and pretty well up on the safety side of things, just the cadet is a little more lightweight than what i am used to so will need nursing through the recaps etc , buy somewhat conversant with sparks so fingers crossed.
i used to play around with old valve amps as a youngster and have had a few bites of the i can tell you, i was given two old jukeboxes from a family friend who had replaced with the modern stuff that hung on a wall, lol..i happily repaired one and give it away and the other got parted out coz the mechanism was faulty and made me a state of the art stereo, god what they would be worth now ..
any how, thanks guys and hope you can all help me get this rogers rolling again, speak soon and thanks to all ..crusher

my boo boo..it has three of the rare valves in place, i have just opened the pre amp and took pic, it seems a valve or something sinister maybe missing on the power amp but may be wrong as it has four valves in it?, pic enclosed

My laptop must be running slow. CrusherOO7 - your thank you posts have only just appeared on my screen! Thanks!

Re just using the power amp section - the Cadet control unit includes an RIAA phono amplifier stage for magnetic pickups, so if you want to play vinyl you'll have to substitute an alternative.

Unfortunately, NOS Brimar ECC807 valves do not come cheap as evidenced by this auction example.

Incoming posts are all coming in out of sequence to when I am responding, but I'm just about keeping up in retrospect!

Yes, start a new thread and let the valve experts fill their boots!

P.S. Haven't seen a box for a Cadet MK3 before!

P.P.S. Your amp is in very good cosmetic condition.
