Recap Klipsch Heresy II ?

A friend has these 1980's speakers and was wondering if the capacitors should be replaced. They seem to sound fine and we did a frequency sweep and generated a fairly flat response curve.


Is this a good enough test?

Yes.
And if they ever fail, you will get holes in the response(a safe mode failure) rather than spikes, if the circuit is as I remember it.

Based on images, there is only 1 electrolytic which is a must at this age.

I've heard good things about Mundorf bi-polars for this.

I would also consider replacing the film caps. If you like splashy, scintillating, go with Mundorf Supreme's. If you want more transparent, clean, but relatively (to Mundorfs) dark, go with Clarity.
