There's indeed about 1R3 worth of dcr in line with the woofer. It's a sealed GHP design btw (Subwooferabstimmung mit Kondensator und Widerstand).

It's coming along nicely. I've got the feeling that the smaller the speaker, the harder it is to build. There's really no room for tolerance.

Absolutely true. I stopped building speakers for about six months during this project:
