15 Inch 3 way

I have measured, my system, but only frequency responce and impedance, and it is very clean. It has an huge impedance peak around 1600Hz though. I guess it is the Fs. So it might be to much to ask of this driver to cross at 1700Hz.
We should not mix this up in you tread, I am only interested in you listening experinces.
But If I could just ask manninen, how was the result comparing DE25 with nsd1095 in you xt1086 horn?

Hi Mannien, thank you for you info. I am using it to 1700Hz, crossed 12 order acoutics, that means with only a capacitor in series and the rest is the driver own rule-off. That seems to be to much to ask? Even if padded 25 db down to meet a Hifi 8" woofer. It seems harsh in the 7-9KHz range. (I can find out of that with my eq) But maybe it is because of what happens lower in frequence. What horn do you use?

You need at least 12dB electrical, if you want to cross over that low, 18dB is minimum. The driver will make too much excursion and will start to scream at a certain level.

Hi Tarl
Sorry for the late reply, i still have the speakers and i am verry pleased with them.
I have two more 8PE21 and i'm thinking of adding it to the speakers to make them MTMB, but i'm not sure yet.
Also i changed the enclosure to larger ones made from plywood.

I'm not home at the moment, but from memory baffle is 45* 116 cm and depth is 50 or 55 cm. Internal volume is 180 liters iirc.
Bottom plate purpose is cosmetic. I have metal grills and i could not find one that is longer than 100 cm.
I still haven't properly attached the grills.😬
