Using the Selenium TS-200 as the tweeter in a hi fi audio speaker

There was a time when no one would use a horn, especially after the honky ones in the Speakerlab Kits from the 1970's. But the Selenium(now owned by JBL) TS-200, has a very flat frequency response, and good distortion measurements. The high sensitivity is not a problem with an active crossover. Has anyone used or considered using one or two of them in a hi-fi speaker(as opposed to sound reinforcement). In the past I have only ever used cloth and titanium domes for tweeters(3/4 to 1 1/8), but I like to branch out now and then.

If so, how did it work out?

I seen an MTM somewhere that used that type of driver. I think it was with the Seas L18 aluminum woofers. If memory serves, it was horn loaded in the baffle.

I understand that. 99% of horn loaded tweeters, I would run away fast for hifi.

But this is a special case. JBL has actually published very specific data on the frequency response and distortion curves. Most that I have seen before this have frequency responses that are all over the lot. This one is as flat as some dome tweeters:

its specs look great - I miss not being able to purchase Selenium's ST324 and ST320 slot tweeters. They had a very natural sound, and wide horizontal dispersion. (ST320 had more magnet and an all aluminum housing) Wonder why JBL/Selenium discontinued production? - perhaps not enough sales compared to the bullet variety (?)
