JBL 1400 pro for OB?

I have purchased a pair of JBL 1400 PROs and for simplicity of box making wondering how they might perform in a OB?

In general a driver for OBs need higher Qts than those. Over .6 or higher.

High Qts is not mandatory. It will roll off a bit early but some eq can cure that.

I can cross higher 260 Hz or should I just make a sealed enclosure as per JBL 4890 dimensions. Similar unit was used in the JBL K2.

nice/robust looking drivers
i would not worry about qts if going active/dsp route
a bit more worrying is the Fs
won't be much use below Fs on OB
you may always add subs
and the upper limit should be around 400-500hz (due to dipole peak/null and beaming beyond that)

Below Fs, they'll roll off faster, that's all. Since it's a low-Q driver, EQ is mandatory anyway so it'll just be built-in. Couple of hundred watts will be plenty of headroom even with the EQ in place.

I'm crossing from a JBL 2245, 160 Hz then JBL 2450 800 Hz, in the 4890 systems in a box they cross at 750 Hz so I think I will go that direction. Active crossover with 24 Db slopes. Thanks for the replies.
