Jeez, why the attitude? We're just discussing how to get good in room measurements with open baffle. The technique described by Joe K is meant for midrange, which is great. But it's not intended for woofers, it's just part of the picture.

The reflections off the wall behind the open baffle plays a huge role in the lower mids and bass. You have to measure the room interaction if you want a true picture of what's going on. This is easy to experiment with. If you have a garage, set up your open baffle speakers with their backs to the door. Listen and/or measure them with the door closed, then open the door. You have just removed the wall. Sound different? Of course. It will measure differently too. There will be a difference with monopole speakers too, but not as much. Try it, it's a fun experiment.

We looked thru the telescope, we saw just part of the solar system. Planet bass was not in the eyepiece.
