Anyone recognize these. What should occupy the hole in the rear ---- passive radiator?

Quarter round in the corners - popular in the late 70's, early 80's. Just about the time the drone cone was at the peak of it's popularity too. Back then it was the system that was known as passive radiator. Comprised of an active cone and a drone cone in nice compact box it had a nice warm kind of bass.

Driver in pic 3 is woofer. Pretty robust unit --cast frame and large rubber surround. I plugged the rear hole and tested briefly sound pretty good!

What's wrong with the original woofer in pic 4?

Nothing wrong other than missing passives. Madisound has one that may fit quite nicely. Would there have been any stuffing in these originally?

You can adjust to suit your ears and environment. Start with a small amount and if it sounds hollow or boomy add some more.

Hi,

You can use a cheap car sub or mass load a cheap driver as a PR.
Bonus is you can tune bass Q by putting resistors across the voicecoil.
