Classix II tweeter question

Just completed my first ever build, PC's Classix II. Great project and they sound good, but the tweeters seems a little muted. I realize they are not supposed to be overly bright, but ....

Are there any common mistakes that I should look for first?

Cheap tweeters usually do vary in sensitivity and top end frequency response a little bit more than expensive ones. Tweeter level also is a matter of taste and room acoustics. However, provided you wired the crossover correctly, you still can exchange the two resistors in the tweeter section (4 Ohm in series and 6 Ohm in parallel). That will rise the tweeter level by 2.5 dB and should make a difference.

They are a mellow-voiced speaker. However, if you have the tweeter polarity wrong (it should be inverted compared to the woofer), it would sound pretty dead, so check that.

First builds can contain x/o layout issues.
All 3 inductors should be orthogonal.

Thank you all for the feedback. Will be second checking the x overs, polarity, and layout.

Had the tweeter connected with the wrong polarity, due to a wire color issue I created.
