AE TD10M (1) or two Faital 8PR200 with SEOS 10/BMS 4550

I am thinking about the AE TD10M (1) or two Faital 8PR200's for 70hz to 1300hz performance. Any opinions? Looking for accurate and high SPL with mid-bass punch to be coupled with the BMS 4550 / SEOS10.

Edit: I purchased AE TD10M's with the apollo upgrade.

I already have the BMS 4550 and the SEOS 10 and I love the sound.

Any other clean mid-bass drivers that you recommend?

The TD10M has a copper shorting ring and measures well. The Faital 8" look to be a great driver with an aluminum shorting ring and cheap enough but few have used it. I like the round driver for counter sinking reasons too. Which would you use?

They both appear to reach 2000hz without issue. Most people use both vented.

I can confirm the AE is very clean and easy to work with.

A pair of 8" can be a good choice to manipulate directivity, and make it match a rectangular horn: depending on exact spacing, -6dB at 90° will be reached as low as 700Hz on the pair axis, whereas it will be more like 2kHz on a single driver axis.
This matches the directivity pattern of a 90° 18"x8" horn, with the two 8" drivers places horizontally bellow it, but it is probably not a good match for a small horn like the SEOS10...

Here is a measurement of the directivity a pair of 8" drivers (gradient axis ax-08) with a 24cm C-C spacing vs a single one, both low passed at 1kHz

I have used both PHL and Volt drivers a lot, they are both great quality brands.
The PHL drivers ( esp the dedicated 8 and 10 inch midrange) are the best I have heard in the 150Hz to 2KHz band, but if you need to go down to 100Hz or below the bass mids are the next best thing.

The Volt BM2500.4 is an all round gem, it has no weakness and I have loved using it sealed or open baffled.Volt Loudspeakers - BM2500.4

I never use ported cabinets. I believe sealed with good Eq will beat ported every time.
Precision Devices now have some nice 8 and 10 inch drivers as well, I have only used their 15 and 18 inch drivers but can recommend them and their superb customer service.

I have never used any Faital Pro drivers but they look great on paper and are a good price, so you are off to a great start anyway!

Check out Beyma 10g40. They have the the extension you need and will go pretty low in a folded TL. I was trying to cross them to a tweeter on a waveguide, but they simply did not match up well. Great midbass/midwoofer.

That's pretty much how PHL operate ie they ignore most DIY sales and only sell to manufacturers, mostly PA and high end studio monitors, small to medium specialist guys.
The guy who owns / runs and does a lot of the physical work ( testing and QC) and is busy all the time...Years ago I used to have to wait 3 months for orders of 20 drivers...
All I can say is the drivers are worth the wait!

I used to live in NY and Elliot at Zalytron is a personal friend of mine. The PHL 3820 looks interesting but I'd prefer a more available brand. I didn't see that one listed on the Zalytron website but I can call him.

The lower 8" would be rolled off earlier than the upper 8". I am leaning toward a single 10".
