hi,
I wanted ask to HI-VI, but not possible contact they, ![]() so I ask to someone expert in isodinamycs , which is the maximum value for in series cap to put in to measure the frequency response with 2,83 volt, because the datasheet seems to me unrealistic( perhaps half-space) ![]() thanks for help ![]() cheers

Hi,
I have a pair of these too.(did not measure them) It was tested some years ago in the German Magazine Hobby Hifi. The graph in this doc is from the Hobby Hifi test. That should be a precise measurement. Please notice Hi-Vi stopped producing this +-100dB planar. So If you plan a new speaker with it, that might become a problem. Thanks Wolf, i do hope Expolinear will keep selling the RT7 pro as they call it...
On the subject, this magnetostatic tweeter does not need a cap to be measured. (or just as much as any tweeter needs a cap). It's impedance is almost a flat 8 Ohm. |

I said it's not a true ribbon, so it's impedance does not dip and won't hurt an amplifier.
Did you miss that? BUT- unless you want to blow the tweeter when doing a sweep, a 25-40uF cap is advised. It's for the tweeter, not for the amp. You can't play bass through a ribbon or planar and have it survive very often. Later, Wolf
