System Pictures & Description

Nothing fancy, ZM SIT-magic power amp and JBL 2226/Selenium D2500ti/JBL horn passive speakers. Pre-amp is on to-do-list at some point. White frames will probs get some veneering if I like these speakers enough.

Cabs are 110l, about 30-35hz in room and close wall. Midrange is pure gold, crossing somewhere 1200hz. Bass is super fast but there could be little more of it. And there is not any extra sparkle on upper register..some like it, some not. Imaging is surprisingly good, didn’t expect that it would be so wide and deep. Nice speakers, I like them. Dual subwoofers would make them VERY good!

Edit: 110L internal clean space? or the box?

here is my mini dsp 4x10HD based 3-way system :

- SPL dynamics xtr380 subs (sealed with foam plugs in the ports) 3cu.ft LR24 80 hz, crown XTI 4002 ( 2 ohm load )
these car subs are not my first today (high mms and qts) but the sounds good to me , at least as long as I have nothing else to compare with yet :)

- Faital pro 12PR300, sealed 1 cuft 120hz LR12 / 1250hz LR12, Rotel RB 991

- Faital pro HF108R / LTH102, 1250hz LR12 , Rotel RA 980BX

the measurement is both channels at 70 cm distance on axis (mic between the drivers) 1/10 smoothing

Very nice. Say more about those bottom horns.
Before these strait midbass horns I had Bruce Edgar's downsized "Show Horns" and pretty satisfied (not so when playing cello lines). But I used to look after a strait horn to replace them. Not that eager to DIY one of the projects available here or else (not having a proper workshop) my attention was captured by a pair of empty 12inch horn enclosures on US eBay (see the picture). I also found the originals which are made by Audac and named HS212 and got a good deal for a pair from Germany.

Initially I wanted to eviscerate the inside coaxial HF horn but --as it also play phaseplug role-- I let it in place and just used all speaker as it is crossed at 600Hz and 100Hz with the rest of my 3-ways horn system. Now the system is rock solid, I can throw on it anything and doesn't complain at all. All percussion instruments, especially piano which I know how it should sound, are superbly reproduced. It is very liniar till 110Hz where it falls sharply.

Did a little research on these. I think I'm going to look for a pair. With a sub or two they may work well.
