Concentric speaker with Eminence Beta10CX and ASD1001

hi all,
here are the images of my first speaker, It's a concentric design based on Eminence Beta10CX and ASD1001. 65 liters volume tuned at 42 Hz.
The crossover is a slightly modified version of the eminence PXB2:2k5 CX.

hi all,

Congratulations on your first build.

When you would be feeling the need for improvement, consider PMC-like TL enclosure and autoformer (instead of resistive, as it seems to be now) attenuation for the tweeter. ;)
I predict faster, more dynamic and tighter sound plus cleaner HF.

Best wishes,
M.

And where do you usually shop autotransformers?

Google is your friend. ;) (not really)

There are speciallity solutions out there, for example:

Autotransformers | Critesspeakers.com

...and others, but I explored the PRO market attenuator and it worked for me. It sounds better than resistor.

There are some clips on youtube also comparing several options, even with Duelund resistors .

Cheers,
M.

Loudspeaker:
8 pcs. Precision Devices PD2450 in closed Box - Sub from 5 - 60 Hz
6 pcs. Acoustic Elegance TD15M in OB - midbas from 60 - 500 Hz
8 pcs. Morel SCM 634 in closed box - mid-range 500 - 350 Hz
2 pcs. Satori tw29bn-b beryllium - treble 3500 - 22000 Hz

I saw your design rationale on your sub thread:

My philosophy is lot of membrane areas and low stroke. It produces little distortion.
I think it is important with low group delay.
The room is also very important, and it is important to work for short reverberation in the lowest bass

Can I ask about the "6 pcs. Acoustic Elegance TD15M in OB - midbass from 60 - 500 Hz" please?

Is OB short for open baffle?
Were the TD15M originally meant for a sealed box?
Did you put the TD15M in a sealed box?
If so why change and how does it sound?

Thanks for posting your photos and measurements of your super system!
