Hi all,
I decided I want to try building my first set of speakers, and thought a small, cheaper set to use with my computer would be a good place to start. After much googling, I settled on the Overnight Sensations... only to discover the components are almost impossible to source here in Australia.
Hi Spaid, I ordered mine from Parts Express for USD24 a pair and the shipping was USD34, paid with Paypal.
So USD58 delivered to Western Australia, whatever that works out to in real $. AUD 84.50 I think.
Not cheap, but I wanted to keep with the flow of the OS's. However I did go with a different tweeter, one from Element14 who happen to be in Oz. Didn't like the one Paul Carmody chose so I bucked the trend and chose what I hope will be a better one for about the same cost.
Google Element14 and check for part number 2827683 (53-1080 1" Soft Dome Tweeter 30W RMS). Can't find how much I paid but not more than AUD$25 for the pair delivered, when they get here...
Hope this helps young Spaid,
Cheers, Martin
Old thread, I know, but there's a true alternative to the Overnight Sensations now. The speaker is called Twiggy and gets positive comments in the German diy community.

Similar cabinet size, slightly deeper bass and a better tweeter in comparison to the Overnight Sensations.
Drivers are Peerless 4" SDS woofer 830855 and Vifa 0.75" tweeter NE19VTS-04. Available in Australia at Wagner online.
