You are not addressing the problem I presented.

BTW, the "fallacy" statement is a famous joke by Marshall McLuhan.

ps "Efficiency is simply volume displacement at a given level, that is it"

That's not it.

Energy (work) is volume displacement times pressure.

Hi,

Oh dear dear ... pointless points ... how much does the air vary in your
neck of the woods ? and can you do anything about it ? tedious .......

rgds, sreten.

Your saying my fallacy is wrong ? Might be a joke, I'd get that.

I don't need to address "your" problem. Your wrong, and like many other
people who are, your missing the point that it is totally uninteresting.
Similarly you want your points addressed whilst making no attempt
whatsoever to address the counterpoints presented, which actually
are addressing the problem as stated, but not agreeing, so ignore.

Hi,

The thing has been built, obviously works, with high efficiency due to the
multiple bass drivers, and its easy to arrange effective force cancelling.

I'm not knocking it, I just find the description somewhat inaccurate.

6 drivers with the same impedance as 1 = + 7.8dB, but with 3 in series
wired in parallel with the other 3 that knocks it back to very near + 6dB.

You are still not solving my physics problem.

Hi,

A physics or measurement problem ? or what ? A bit of ducking and diving ?

The physics indicate you will get nothing like the 9dB effect you describe
at any "reasonable position or distance", and as ever the onus is on the
person claiming an effect to come up with a plausibly rigorous theory.

I'm out of here because the article is not going to be rewritten,
and I've got a a very strong gut feeling where this is all going.

It's hard to imagine that this alignment gives you something for nothing. Is it possible that the effective impedance of the drivers is lowered?

Interestingly I first learned about this in 1972, testing Heil tweeters - the
resistive portion of the impedance increased by 1% when they were inserted
into the magnets vs outside. This same number turned out to be very
close to the integrated SPL figures for efficiency : 100 dB/m^2 or 1%.

Hi Guys!
Man Yall put a rope around this one and ran with it,,,,,Cool, lol.
My speakers are on the UPS truck and I got 3 pieces of 3/4" sign board plywood just waiting on me,
So If I have this figured out correctly....2 speakers facing and in one slot,The edges rounded, should the slot have a little taper? like a horn? and should the back of the slot be as narrow as possible ,approx 2.25 wide at the front and about 10'" high for each slot 12" deep, close enough? Now one more thing when all (6) speakers are wired ,When the speakers go positive they push in together to force air out the front ,all 6 in parallel should give 4.5 ohms or add amps per cabinet to run 3 speakers at 9 ohms ,these speakers are 12 ohms each, see post #77
ok I'm listening and I'm just a regular DIY guy so take it ez on my physics and let's have some fun with this build, lol.AND Thanks for all your work and help ahead of Time ,got 2 nice bottle's of fine wine to help break them in,lol.

I knew heat isn't the answer Papa was looking for...but it's partly true.

One because Papa's amps like to run hot...and they are huge.

And two, with speakers being about 1% efficient in converting electrical signals to mechanical motion, the rest turns into heat.

I am really digging this...
Winslow...Heat??? you mean from compression or dissipation from driver??
Boyles law??

I like this idea, thanks Nelson.
