So you lower the throatarea 0,79 times just like that? Not a good idea.

You have to "cut" the horn well before the throat and make an adapter where areas are kept accurate all the way from square to round. The cut could be made where sideheight is at least throatdia plus 10%.

Does the rectangular unity horn use a transition like this? I dont remember seeing it.

I would build the square horn in one piece. Then you are free to make any round to square bolton adapter you like, 1", 1,4" or 2".

This is how the original Txs where made in the 30´s :
