I'm afraid a dome tweeter will melt in a bass guitar amplifier. Why no horn?
Ah, Glockenklang seems to be using 2" dome tweeters. 2" domes are called midranges here. :) Most of them are around 90 dB though.
The HF-Drivers from Glockenklang I have heard. Very high efficiency and good sound in all respects. But very expensive. Therefore the question to an alternative.
The biggest drawback of a HF compression driver with horn is the very narrow beam angle both in the horizontal and in the vertical plane, if there is a listening room with sound absorbing carpets and curtains. For such applications a dome tweeter is the first choise.

Kill Joy or Killjoy

kill·joy /ˈkilˌjoi/

a person who deliberately spoils the enjoyment of others through resentful or overly sober behavior. "a few killjoys try to reform the seasonal activities"

In other-words, one who kills the joy.

It as just a random expression, don't take it too seriously.

what about this multi dome approach (partly "LINE ARRAY" arrangement), realized in Miller & Kreisel® (various models), Genisis "201", Grandinote "Mach 16", SpeakerCraft "AIM 8 TWO" Tekton Design "Impact Monitor" or Geithain "RL930K" to get more SPL without horn ?
What rule is important to know concerning the connection of the dome tweeters for avoiding interferences ?

I just got 16 domes a while back to try put, and thinking of going all out and get another 16 of them and call it Good !!
Diffractions? ........well, we'll see when we get to that point, I have a few ideas to try.
I got so many in the First place was to build something that would be hard for me to blow up all the time, not to mention the added sensitivity from having Sooo many drivers, my goal is only to make it loud but it must be clean too, Diffraction's?..... I have ESL's to listen to if they annoy me Too Much. ;)
