Folks,

I had a dent in a pair of custom built bookshelf speakers. I used a HiVi D6.8 6" Poly Bass/Midrange Shielded for the woofer. I was taking them out to adjust the crossover on the unit. I accidentally hit my fit on the cone with a lot of force. The plastic on the cones are really think and stubborn. With how hard the plastic was, the only way I could think to remove the dent was with a large paper clip. This left a decent sized hole near the center of the cone.

I was wondering what experience people had with this. Is it better to put a drop of silicone putty on there or just leave it alone. How much is the sound affected? It is a ported design.

Thanks for the help.
