Ok I have a Vifa D27TG series tweeter and an M13 shielded woofer and at the moment I'm running the woofer full range and have a 4.7uF cap on the tweeter.
Everything sounds fine actually except for a bit too much highs. I'd like to take it down a notch for it to sound more balanced.
Whats the best way to install the resistor ?
Right now from the positive lead, it looks like this:
+ ----------------Capacitor------------Positive on tweeter
Can I install the resistor as follows?
+ -------Resistor---------Capacitor------------Positive on tweeter
Or do I have to do it like this?
+ ------------Capacitor---------Resistor-------Positive on tweeter
I assume if I do it like the last way, I have to use a different value cap since the tweeter wont be seen as an 8 ohm load anymore right? I'm thinking of maybe using a 2 or 3 ohm resistor to see if that will help take it down. I do have a 10 watt ceramic non inductive resistor but its 6 ohms which will probably reduce the output too much (I'm guessing)
