As long as it is functional it is beautiful (you can paint the sub black for extra bass authority )
What x-over freq/slope?
>edit. Is the compression driver connected?

The woofer has no filter.. Just a resistor in parallel. 1.4uF for the compression driver. Sub low pass 90Hz.

Thanks.
(I asked about the compression driver that is at the top of the sub)

That compression driver on top of the sub is not connected. It is the faitalpro hf10ak... Which I want to try.

My first try: a set of desktop open baffles. I think they sound quite fine near range (sitting in front of the computer). Further away they sound like crap.

Crossover is around 300 Hz, to the 8 inch woofer. I built it without the woofer before, but, well ... not enough bass without extreme equalizing and excursion of the full range driver.

The last step was to add two horizontal stabilizer bars. I noticed a steep and crass decline of the output level around 90 to 130 Hz, and strong vibrations of the baffle in the same range accordingly, so I figured ... The bars indeed improved the response in that frequency range!
