Default Hello, newbie to DIY Hifi & the forum!

Hello, as the title states, I'm pretty new to the DIY HiFi scene.
I have always loved music & the movies & I've always had an intolerance for poor sound or picture quality
Which could only ever lead to one thing! Building audio components!

As a kid I always had a walkman (of whatever particular format was the latest at the time, cassette, CD, minidisc, then mp3) stuffed into my pocket.

My first step towards hifi was when I bought a Cowon S9 (2009), which was amazing!
It gave me my first experience of hearing sounds in songs I'd never heard before! That lead to better headphones (Audiotechnica ATH-A700's), which lead to another bigger cowon X9.

Finally I setup an entry level cinema room system about 5-6 years ago with pioneer receiver & a monitor audio bronze 5.1 set.

Currently I have the same Monitor audio bronze set, which has been extended to a 7.2 system (all bronze BX2's & BX10 subs) & an Onkyo TXNR656 receiver.

My first DIY project was an 8watt per channel stereo tub amp kit.

Currently I'm working on a pair of DIY speakers, which I'll post about elsewhere as there are some questions!

Been learning a lot just from browsing the posts on the forum, so now I'm a member hopefully the learning will continue!
