Hi all , my names Rick and I’m an alcoholic. Sorry that’s Tuesday evenings .
Anyways , I joined recently and thought I’d tell a little about myself . I’m 57 years old with lots of interests .
Gave up all the fun stuff like dirt biking and skiing , as the knees aren’t what they were .
So now I have low impact hobbies like Home Theatre . Right now I have a fairly decent system , paradigm Studio cc690v5 and studio 100v5’s front and rear .
Anthem avm60 pre pro , MCA525 amplifier.
For a flat panel i went with a 65” LG woled .
Anyways , if I could do it all over again I’d build my own speakers . Planning on purchasing a cnc router table from cncrouterparts someday , which may help if I designed them the way I’d like in a stack .
I’ve been studying raw drivers for quite some time , and have kind of partial to Scanspeak .
Would be my dream to build a pair of speakers dedicated to music someday .
But for now I’ll admire your builds and learn what I can .
Although I have no time to pursue a build right now, I would like to start a new thread with my ideas and your input .
As much as I’d like to go with all active drivers , I’ll probably have to figure out how to build a passive crossover.
