Default Hellow from Lund, Sweden and a question about WinISD!

Hi!

This is my forst post here at diyaudio.com! I have read many great posts here and found many useful tips!

I have always had an interest for both HIFI and PA gear and a desire for building things by hand and for engineering in general. I study computer science engineering (4th year) and have built a couple of amateur loudspeakers and amps. Thus far i have only used the cheapest available parts for learning purposes, some of which turned out great and others, not so great.

Now i wish to get better at this!

On to my first question:
WinISD plots the amplitude function of what? The whole system with the speaker mounted, or just the box itself?

Clarification:
Say i look at frequency response tests where an element has -3db SPL at 100hz and has -12db at 60hz.
Then i want the box to have +3db at 100hz and +12db at 60hz for the whole system to have a flat amplitude function.

Should i try to achieve a flat amplitude function in WinISD, or try to achieve an amplitude function
that has +3db at 100hz and +12db at 60hz?

I am thankful for any answers. (I hope it is ok to post the first question here?)

The effect on the idealized LF response of the speaker by the box.

Thanks for the welcomes and the clarification! This was what I assumed for my first 12inch subwoofer build, so i made a 200liters box with a 12db peak at 60hz. Turned out great!
