I've been hanging around here for a while, and i figured its finally about time to introduce myself, now that I have some sort of goals set for myself.
I started my DIY interests with a subwoofer, looking for something to add some kick to my speakers (of which one had crossed polarity, explaining my recent dissatisfaction since moving). At least now my system is balanced.
I have decided though that I do want to build myself a better system. My needs are built mainly around music, with a tiny touch of home theater on those rare occasions. I'll probably shuffle my current mains (Rectilinear IIIb's) to rear speakers after i finish, being unable and unwilling to spend twice as much as I'm going to spend on making the speakers I crave.
As I'm sure everyone's seen me rant a couple hundred times by now, current hopes lie around building something vaguely in the vecinity of a slightly upgraded <a href="http://home.hetnet.nl/~geenius/Andromeda.html">Andromeda</a> or <a href="http://members.home.nl/edgar.beers/">eve II</a>.
I recently came to terms with the fact that I just dont know enough, and that I will never be able to find enough about this subject on the internet to rest my insatiable appetite for knowledge, and have resolved myself to find a damned good book.
Also, for those interested, i've got a viewsonic vg150 waiting to meet my 8000 lumen projector when i get home from college (wednesday) for a really nice DIY video projector. Already cooking up schemes for V2.0, which is on the drawing board.
