My friend guitarist has a Polytone II Mini-Brute, the model with Sonic Circuit.
It has a weird problem: the bass pot does not cut bass as much it should. So the amp is very bass heavy.
Everything else works just fine. Vol, reverb, other EQ's, Sonic Circuit, drive etc etc, no rattles, no scrathes. Bass pot increases bass and decreases it – but not enough. I have a Mini Brute IV in which I compare this and the difference is apparent.
My friend said that this phenomen started after he played a double bass gig with this Polytone.
Is there some capacitor which has got too loose with the vibrations of the double bass?
Does anybody has the schematics of this generation of Polytone? I have found diagrams for earlier models, but not for these Sonic Circuit models.

Eminence Beta 12A or 10A have been tested and praised to be quite close to the originals. The originals are 3 or 4 ohms and the Betas are 8 ohm, but in the reality the difference is not big. Their sensitivity is 98 dB.
And You can always order a 4 ohm custom made Beta speaker from Eminence. If You live in US it won't cost too much.
