I wonder how many of those 40,000 products manufactured each month end up languishing in wannabee rock stars' bedrooms!
I have a Marshall amp in my shed that never gets used.
I played guitar for 30 years then one day just lost interest.
I don't own a Marshall amp, but if I did it would be a handwired one like those crafted by Cathy (see 2:20 into video).
When I did my City and Guilds in electronics in 1980 one of the practical exercises was using tag board to build up a circuit.
We still learned about valves in those days despite them not being used much by then. We were told it was because of cathode ray tubes that were still around then.
