Maybe a larger earpad will work? Microsoft LX-3000 is about 2.75 x 3.25"
Or, carefully disassemble the old pads, cut new covers from thin leather, and stitch those over memory foam, or maybe gel (which is what some high-isolation hearing protectors and headsets use).
