JLH 1969 Headphone Amp

I can still remember sitting in a tiny staff room at the hospital when I studied Medical Physics, reading the original article in HFNRR, in about 1980. JL LH's writing was so good that it inspired me to try and make my own PCBs, laid out by hand with stick-on track and pads (remember those?). If I remember right, he wrote that the amp was designed for a friend who sold records, to have quiet music at the end of the day, but that he should have realised that silence was what he wanted after a day in a record shop.
