Well we are at 28 boards - this is a great turn out in a relatively short period of time. Let me veroboard in point-to-point the dc protect and turn on delay circuit this weekend and then I will start taking the pre orders for the GB.

Will there be a possibility of not using the DC protect your team is implementing on the board if we have DC protect boards ourselves? I.E., can the end user bypass the DC protect circuit without hacking the board?

Will your DC protect circuit be tested with the current amplifier circuit, to make sure that THD remains very low at all output levels up to clipping? Is the DC protect circuit composed of a relay with two contact sets in parallel - one optimized for low voltage, the other for high current or you guys going to use MOSFETs instead? It appears MOSFET from reading post#26.

Sorry for so many questions, but most DC protect circuits on the market are low quality, and low reliability. There is no use implementing a DC protect circuit if it is 1) Unreliable over the life of an amplifier and 2) if it appreciably increases THD which can happen if it is not biased in a way that minimizes the variation in switch resistance throughout the signal swing.

You are correct that the implementation uses two high current N channel MOSFETs. If you choose not to use the circuit it would be a simple matter to noload the MOSFETs and use a piece of wire to jumper drain to drain in their footprint.

Yes, but may take some tweaks to the resistor setpoints and Hugh will have to answer that. It may require more bias current, but will end up with more power.

Hey, this is a terrific amount of interest in this amp! I am running behind schedule and need to proto the SSR speaker pro circuit and then give final schematics for JP and away we go with the verification PCBs. I always do verification PCBs first to make sure the boards from our GBs are functional and easy and enjoyable to build. It takes time though so thanks for your patience.
