No worries - the links are not highlighted well enough. I should change the color to bright blue or green to make it easier to see.

I have been listening to my M2X more and more powered by this PSU and have to say, it sounds great. I have never been happy with any (and believe me I fired many) of the previous power supply designs for the M2 - they all had hum and ground loop issues of some sort. The amp is silent now finally.

Hi X,

How critical is the 68E1 resistor value? I have a whole bash of 68E in my collection. Some are 0.2 up and others 0.2 down.

Not critical. 5% tolerance is ok even.

Btw, orders have been placed for the GB2. Should be here in 8-9days.

Thanks X,

Didn't think it would be critical, but I'm no electronics expert. Very much a biginner.

Would there be any SR boards left on the GB perchance?

Kevin
PS I'm busy assembling the 4 boards as we "speak"

Hi X and experienced DIYers,

I'm picking up problems soldering onto the earth lands on this board. I have a Weller PU 81 station with a WSP 80 iron, and a range of tips. I'm currently using the 5 mm chisel to get the solder to take on the lands, but am not certain what the correct temperature setting should be. Your advice will be highly appreciated. The solder is a 0.7 mm 2% flux SAC305 and lead free wire.
Thanks,

Kevin

I use a round Hakko chisel tip and 60w iron at 375C with Pb/Sn rosin core solder. It needs a wide chisel tip. Add enough solder to make good contact but it was not especially difficult.

Many thanks X,
I had mine set to 350C. I'll just up it a smidgeon. Just worried about overheating some of the components.

Default First board almost done

Almost done with the first board. Just the final decision if to direct mount the BJTs or use the receptacles. Probably the later. Have some heatsinks from foobar UPSs.
Also, chickened out and used sockets for the 4320s.
