For M2X application, can a 25+25vac secondary be use for SLB ?

That is a little high and you will be around +/- 28 to 29v. It will play music but heat output just went up quite a bit.

Going green

Hi Aksa,

I conserve energy on everything except my Class A amp/s. With Quad ESLs anything else doesn't cut it. I've ordered all the components for this build; now just to wait for the boards.

The boards are just about completed at the board fab house. Probably another 5 days before I get them. Really looking forward to using them in my projects. The Alpha BB is one where I see huge benefits. I currently run two CRCs in series for that amp and the diodes are making lots of heat.

XRK,

Are you planning on stocking them in the future ? I see these boards selling even after this group buy is done.

Best,
Anand.

Yes, once I send out the GB and take care of the few late comers and stragglers on this thread, they will go to my shop so that the logistics are much easier to handle.

Hello all. I would like to order a dual supply SLB v2 also.

Thank you!

Hi X,

I have a Moth 30 RIAA amplifier I want to rebuild at some point. Would a slightly scaled down version of this project be good enough to power it, viz. with 6800uF or max. 10 000uF caps? It draws a maximum of 1 A @ +24 V & -24 V. The other option of course is to power it with 4 12V SLA batteries.

Sure, 1A at +/-24 is no chump change. That’s almost as much as one channel of a Pass Class A 25w amp which typically draws 1.25A. 48W dissipation in the amp output stage is quite a lot. You could use 6800uF of course but 15000uF caps are not expensive and might as well get 50v ones so the PSU is good for higher voltages on the future.

Will the front face plate of the Deluxe 4U Aluminum provided enough cooling for the power transistors?

Has anyone used a cap Mx with the Pass F4?
