Did I understand correctly ?:
1. For example, to M2 / M2X, it's better to use 2x single rail (one for V + second V-)? Then I need to use 2x 22v on the transformer winding to get +/- 24VDC?
2.Is standard 2x18 V transformer for Firstwatt insufficient to get 24vdc?
3. maybe the best option is two pcb dual rail?

Best option is use dual rail x 2 PCB with two trafos. You need 22v trafo to get enough voltage after sag and drop in cap Mx.

Next option is single dual rail with star grounding for everything (signal, speaker, amp return).

Single rail option is only for single rail Class A amps like ACA or MOFO or for using as clean power on RaspPi etc.

I am not familiar with Pass VFET amp - I am assuming it is dual rail? Ideally, each channel should have its own dual rail board so 4 SLBs and each with their own trafo.

Thanks, 6L6. Looks like +/-28v but I did not catch how many amps - although seeing that it’s 0.1v across 0.1ohm at R32, I guess that’s 1A bias current?

The nice DHL lady just dropped a 16lb box off on my doorstep.

These look really nice. Kudos to Jhofland for a terrific layout.

A great amp to pair these off with is the Alpha 20, which I just received a fresh set since they ran out. You can get those direct from my shop. I plan to build up another Alpha 20 soon. I think Vunce maybe doing the same thing too.

The SLB SR is a great PSU for the MoFo or other single rail amp.

Yes you’re correct, I am re-working my Alpha20 to utilize the SLB psu.
While I’m at it, I might as well re-work my MoFo also with the SR version and linear power supply

To connect the top and bottom traces to form an ultra low impedance path. Also, the vias “stitch” the two sides together making the copper trace very durable and resistant to peeling off.

Aww, very interesting. I’ve read about using vias to help increase thermal conductivity for SMD before but that’s not the case here. Do you fill the vias up with solder or just leave them empty?

Leave them empty and be very careful not to create a solder bridge from the pads to the via’s.
