If I could make a request for the volume pot pads to accept the larger Alps RK27 in addition to the smaller RK09. Thanks

I think JP can accommodate that - or perhaps you may need to remotely mount the pot and have flying leads from pot to where RK09 is. I generally like my pots panel mounted.

Maybe it's due to the pic (I am not sure)- but the volume pot is positioned towards the rear end of the board and looks difficult to reach without a shaft extender... any chance of bringing it a bit forward?

Otherwise layout looks impressive as usual, thanks to JP - we are a bit spoiled.

I think JP can accommodate that - or perhaps you may need to remotely mount the pot......

Hi Zman01,
JPS64 likes to place the pot symmetrically in the middle of the board so it’s ground pins are on the star ground hub. There are two ground planes left:right and they are split right through the middle of the pot (middle layer between two pot discs). I don’t think he is going to move it closer to the edge as that is not the ideal location from grounding and low noise standpoint - I know, as I have asked before myself

ok for ALPS but I‘m not a fan (had in the past big problem with this type) of this type: TKD CP601 (not cheap but my fav) already in parallel.

I‘ll propose something for the guys who like to put pot near to front.

Thinking finishing (with X checking) for end of this week.

Thanks, Do. $40 is not too bad for the ultimate preamp I suppose. Sort of a big change though from my usual $5 RK09 pots.

I have been using the eBay DACT stepped attenuators in my preamps. I think they work well and sound better than a pot. May have to give the TDK a try.
