.
Mark has promised to do one last case GB before his retirement. :)
This is only because we want to clear the extrusions we have and not discard them as scrap metal.
Too much of a waste.

So this is a one-time tentitive offer for the tower case I use for my own High Power DAO:
https://www.diyaudio.com/forums/hea...s-zgf-headphone-amplifier-34.html#post5405088
It will be limited to 8 cases maximum (if we have no rejects).

It has a monolithic rectangular tube extrusion as main chassis.
The tube is imported German 6060 extrusion measuring 80 x 200 x 265mm.
The heatsinks have ventilation slots milled between the fins, as is also on the top plate.
2x 6mm 6061 heat spreaders will be provided so that you can premount everything before bolting them to the heatsinks.
It also allows you to reuse the case for a new project by just making new spreaders yourselves.
The base is CNC milled from solid 18mm 6061 aluminium, and has a clearance pocket for transformer / wiring.
Front and rear panels are 8mm 6061 AL. Top plate is 3mm 6061. All CNC milled and not stamped.
No screws are visible from the front and the rear.

Overall size 155mm wide, 285mm high, 216mm deep.
Heatsinks are 200 x 255 x 38 mm each.
Inside dimensions 72 x 192 x 264 mm.
A tight fit for the DAO, but plenty of space for all our other headphone amp designs.

It will be a blank case, so no pre-drilled holes for RCAs, mains cable, ...., etc. on the rear.
We shall provide pilot holes for RCAs at the default position, so that you can align them easily.
The front is fully finished as shown, including 11mm predrilled holes for a REAN RT5MPR Mini XLR socket.
It also includes all the mounting hardware and dial for a TKD 2CP601 volume pot.
We probably shall support ONE option for no volume cutout at the front.

Price not yet know. Probably ~2500 HKD plus Paypal plus shipment.
We don't make money, just cover cost.
The recently shown case for the DAO GB1 costs a lot more (just to make).

And not a promise; just gauging interest before any decisions from our side.

Any takers ?

Way Cool!! Full disclosure, I'm still tempted to build my p2p DAO in here with an external PSU and external gain stage, maybe the Lifepo4 boards iancanada is producing... :)
Thanks Patrick

1) Morde, no volume cutout
2) Cloud85, with volume cutout
3) JJGB, no volume cutout
4) s610adam. with volume cutout

Latest Update

We now have a price and a production lot.
We can keep to the 2500 HKD promised in post #1.
Schedule delivery forecast to be April 2019.
We'll have to ask for 50% down payment first.
Shall contact you by PM this weekend.

Also checked air parcel (with tracking) world wide.
Approx. 450 HKD for 3kg.
Exact weight not known yet.
And surface parcel does not save you 100 HKD.

Please check PM in a few days' time,
Patrick

I re-check the weight of my finished DAO HP (same case).
It comes to 12kg, including a 120VA toroidal transformer of 2kg.
So I was way out and we need to plane for 12kg shipment wieght.

That would mean 1100 HKD for air parcel, and 600 HKD for surface parcel.
I would propose to use surface parcel.
You of course always have the right to retract from the GB.
But if it less than 4 subscribers then we shall not go ahead.
Which is also less work for us. ;)

Let's see.
